Demons are also perverted beings. When they rejected God and lined up with Satan, they earned” a special name. Not only
are they called demons, but Jesus called them unclean spirits. They pervert everything they touch. Demons pervert the truth
of God ( 1 Timothy 4:1). They want you and me to believe a lie because their leader, Satan is the father of lies. Paul says
they want to pervert God’s goodness and make it into something that is all prohibition and denial of the things God created.
That’s why John tells us to “test the spirits” ( 1 John 4:1 ). Testing the spirits means knowing which ones are exalting Jesus
and which one’s are not, because that’s always the test. Demons can’t handle the presence of Christ. They can’t handle
the cross or the blood of Christ, or anything that has to do with him. They leave when Christ is exalted. Demons are
also eager to pervert humans sexual relationships ( 1 Corinthians 7:5 Revelation 18:2-3 ). sometime they have even
been able to mix perversion with religious devotion, as in the worship of Aphrodite practiced in Corinth. Demons
are perverted, but the problem is they don’t always appear to be so. They want to make their perversion as
attractive as possible, even using a twisted version of God’s word against people. That’s why you must always
measure what you hear by the word, not by how well it was said or the fact that the person saying it was
holding a Bible. Tune in next week and learn more about how demons are trying, and will ruin your life.
