A storm is a disturbance in the atmosphere, acompanied by strong winds ranging from 65-70 or even 85 miles per hour.
There are different types of storms, rain storms, snow storms, or wind and hail. We are not talking about these storms that nature brings, storms that a weather man can prepare you for. These storms that i am talking about are the storms of life. You are never prepared for these storms. These storms come when you lease expect.
King David in the 55 Psalms had a storm in his life. He wanted to get away. He wanted to run. The 6 verse of the 55psalm, David said,
“oh that i had wings like a dove, for then would I fly away, and be at rest. Lo, then would i wander far off, and remain in the wilderness, I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.”
Some times when you are going through a storm you are so overwhelmed you forget that God is there to help you. King David forgot that he was the one who wrote the psalms. He wrote the 23 psalm,
“The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”
He remembered that he wrote the 27 psalms,
“The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall i fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall i be afraid?”
King David also remembered that he wrote the 37 psalms,
“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord and do good.”
My brothers and sisters you don’t have to run from your storms when they overwhelm you, just remember to trust in the the Lord he will take you through.
