The writer Paul says in the book of 2 Corinthians 4:18 that,
“we need to keep looking, not at things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.”
For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. The previous two verses, verses 16- 17 , help to set the context. The mature Christian is one whose life is guided by the unseen realities of the Spiritual world, not by the five senses.
It’s not that these things are wrong; they just aren’t enough. The focus of your life must be derived from the invisible world. You say, But how do you see?” Paul tells us in (Colossians 3: 1-2). If then you have been raised up with Christ, Keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on the Earth.”
God wants you to live on earth with a Heavenly perspective. He wants you to see life through Heavenly sunglasses. He wants the Spiritual world to be the tint” by which you look at the things of earth, so that your mind is functioning from a Divine, as opposed to a human perspective.
The Christians that are still on the bottle, will never see the things that are above, they will always see the things on the Earth. These are Christians that talk about Christ, but really don’t know him. They talk a good game ,but don’t know the game, or the rules of the game.
Do you know him, or are you just talking? What things do you have your mind on? The things above that are eternal, or the things on this Earth that are temporal? Let’s be real, because you will only be fooling yourself.
